Thinking of moving to Clarkdale? You’re not alone, this small town is getting a lot of attention from people looking for a quiet but friendly small town they can call home. Small towns like Clarkdale are hard to find. We wrote about 7 reasons you’ll fall in love with Clarkdale here, but today we wanted to talk about some of the more practical reasons this town is so wonderful.
3 More Reasons We Loving Living in Mountain Gate, Clarkdale
1. The Entire State is at Your Fingertips
Finding a quiet yet beautiful place to live that’s within a few hours of major cities is a big ask, but Clarkdale fulfills. Phoenix is just under two hours away (and it’s an extremely straightforward and scenic drive), Prescott is an hour away (another lovely drive), and Sedona is just over half an hour away.
If you’ve got a spare afternoon and want to do some local exploring, there’s plenty to see and do nearby. Some popular attractions include the Montezuma Castle National Monument, Cathedral Rock and Bell Rock, Jerome State Historic Park (and the wineries between Clarkdale and Jerome), and the Out of Africa Wildlife Park, just to name a few.
You can also easily reach top Arizona attractions, such as the Desert Botanical Garden and The Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix, the Petrified Forest National Park, and even the Grand Canyon National Park isn’t all that far away.
2. It’s a Great Base for Travelers
While Clarkdale has a good mix of people of all ages, it is particularly popular with retirees thanks to its quiet yet central location and lower cost of living than some other nearby cities. You can fly just about anywhere in the world from Flagstaff Airport, which is just 68 miles away, and for a wider choice of direct international flights, you can head to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.
While these are the busiest airports, there are other nearby airports, including Sedona, Cottonwood, and Prescott, which will get you just about anywhere in the country, as well as Puerto Rico and Mexico.
3. Our Energy Bills Are Affordable & Consistant
While we can’t speak for the whole of Clarkdale here, we can say that another reason we love living in Mountain Gate is that our energy bills are cheap! All our Mountain Gate homes are built with cutting-edge energy-efficiency technology, helping to conserve heat and cool air, depending on the time of year.
Mountain Gate homes have slab-edge insulation, which means energy efficiency starts with the foundation, preventing the loss of heat through the concrete slab. We use spray foam insulation in the exterior walls and the roof, and even our windows are designed to let light in a while keeping the accompanying heat out.
Clarkdale is a truly beautiful place to live; you’re always just a short drive away from a National Park, and even walking out of your door in Mountain Gate will give you the reset and refresh you’re so often looking for when you head outdoors. With the convenience of Cottonwood and Jerome on Clarkdale’s shoulders and major cities only a little further afield, there’s really nothing to fault about Clarkdale!
