The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has recognized residential home builder Mandalay Homes for their outstanding commitment to constructing homes with improved indoor air quality through participation in the Indoor airPLUS Program. Mandalay Homes was one of only eight homebuilders to be honored with a 2015 Indoor airPLUS Leader Award.
“We’re proud to announce the 2015 Indoor airPLUS Leader Award winners and to congratulate them for raising the bar on indoor air quality in new homes,” said David Rowson, Director of EPA’s Indoor Environments Division. “It is especially fitting that we recognize these winners in May during Asthma Awareness Month as factors found in the indoor environment can cause, trigger, or exacerbate asthma symptoms. These builders and Home Energy Raters are not only creating healthier indoor environments for homeowners, but they are also pushing the broader housing market toward safer, healthier housing by raising consumer awareness about the importance of indoor air quality. Their recognition is well-deserved.”
In response to this latest honor Mandalay Homes’ CEO, Dave Everson, said, “Every home we build throughout our many communities in Prescott, Payson, and the Greater Phoenix Area is an Indoor airPLUS qualified home. To us these aren’t just logos to put on our brochures. Energy efficiency and environmental quality isn’t just a goal, it’s a responsibility. We’re proud of our homes and it’s always wonderful to be recognized for hard work. This award is an honor.” All Indoor airPLUS homes also meet strict energy efficiency standards established by the ENERGY STAR Certified Homes Program. Homes displaying the Indoor airPLUS and ENERGY STAR Certified Homes labels provide unparalleled energy efficiency, comfort, durability, indoor air quality, and peace of mind.
